[Review] Big Sean’s “Hall of Fame” Concert

The new trend to promote album sales and engage with fans on a more personal level, has been to throw free events prior or after an album release. Many artist such as Wale and Kanye West has followed this trend and as of last night so did rapper Big Sean. Upon his sophomore album, which dropped yesterday August 27th, Big Sean and Hot 97 teamed up to throw a free concert as Funk Master Flex set the stage ablaze with the hottest tunes from New York artists.

Bright lights, loud music, chanting, and great vibes filled Terminal 5 as Big Sean performed songs off of Hall of Fame, along with tracks from Detroit and Finally Famous. The rapper continued to wow the crowd when he brought Juicy J, Wiz Khalifah, and even his father on stage to perform Fire, Gang Bang, and Showout.

No doubt Big Sean is a great performer he definitely brought the energy and managed to stay humble. However his album wasn’t very impressive. Some of the songs on his album where hits and misses, putting this concert together was a very smart move, since the album came short of what many may have expected.

The album is in stores now, tell us what you think. Are you impressed? Did you expect more?
